CAIRO – 27 December 2021: On December 26, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Mostafa Waziri gave a lecture on the latest archaeological discoveries made by the joint Egyptian and foreign archaeological missions and the restoration works that was completed during the last period in a number of archaeological sites nationwide, within the framework of the activities held by the Egyptian pavilion at the Expo. 2020 Dubai.

 

 

 

 

The lecture also focused on shedding light on the archaeological projects currently underway, which will be completed and inaugurated soon, in addition to developing visitor services at a number of Egyptian archaeological sites and museums.

It is worth noting that Egypt is participating in the Expo 2020 Dubai with the sarcophagus of the priest Psamtik, which was discovered in the Saqqara archaeological area, in addition to five archaeological reproductions representing examples of the treasures of King Tutankhamun, which includes the golden funerary mask, the golden throne chair, the guardian statue of King Tutankhamun, and 3 royal coffins, along with a model of the statue of the goddess Maat.

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities held a number of events in the Egyptian pavilion at the exhibition, where Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Lamia Kamel participated in promoting a symposium entitled “Egyptian Tourism: Establishing a New Atmosphere for Tourism,” during which she reviewed the efforts of the ministry towards creating an integrated and diversified Egyptian tourism product, and the role of the advertising campaigns it launched to promote the Egyptian tourist destination.

 

 

 

 

The Egyptian pavilion in the exhibition attracted great interest from all over the world, as the King of Sweden visited the pavilion and expressed his fascination with what he saw.
