CAIRO – 20 December 2021: On December 19, the Coptic Museum in Old Cairo launched a temporary archaeological exhibition under the title "A Song of Joy", in celebration of Christmas and New Year's Eve.
The exhibition will run for three weeks.

Head of the Museums Sector at the Supreme Council of Antiquities Moemen Othman explained that the exhibition includes 11 artifacts from the museum’s holdings that represent scenes of celebrations of Christmas and the Coptic New Year.

Among the most important of these exhibits are pieces of fabric with pictures of dancers and musicians, and two icons of Saint Nicholas, as well as another depicting the birth of Christ.
Director General of the Museum Jihan Shawky stated that on the sidelines of the exhibition, the museum organizes a number of entertainment activities, including artistic performances for children and adults. This is in addition to a guided tour provided by museum curators. Shawky added that the celebration included a number of art workshops and lectures.
