CAIRO – 19 December 2021: On December 21 at 7 p.m., Al-Sennari Archaeological House will hold a symposium entitled "Refa'a al-Tahtawy & the Exploration of Ancient Egypt" as part of a series of seminars on the history of Cairo.
The seminar will provide an overview of the writings of the scholar Refa’a al-Tahtawy on the ancient Egyptian civilization and will review his contributions to the management and protection of Egyptian antiquities and the establishment of the first Egyptian school teaching Egyptology to the Egyptians.
The last of the “Cairo Biography” events was launched last Tuesday and was titled "Egyptian Jews between Prosperity and Diaspora" by Muhammad Abu Al-Ghar, in the Al-Sennari Archaeological House.
“Cairo Biography” is one of the community initiatives that aim to preserve and raise awareness of the capital's heritage through multimedia and works to revive and protect antiquities.
