CAIRO – 8 December 2021: On December 12 at 6:30 p.m., the Egyptian Poetry Forum will hold a seminar celebrating Naguib Mahfouz’s 110th birth anniversary.
Naguib Mahfouz was born on December 11, 1911, in Cairo’s Al-Gamaliya district. He studied philosophy in the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University. He was granted the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1988, and was the first Arab writer to ever obtain this prestigious award.
The Diwan Library had recently obtained the rights to publish the works of the world-famous author, in paper and audio, for a period of 15 years, as per a contract it signed with his daughter Umm Kulthum.
