565 - Justin II succeeds his uncle Justinian I as Emperor of the Byzantine Empire.
1920 - The first meeting of the League of Nations takes place in Geneva.
1930 - Law No. 49 of 1930 is issued regarding the reform of Al-Azhar, which paved the way for the emergence of the Al-Azhar University.
1939 - Tutankhamun's tomb is opened to the public.
1948 - A number of members of the regime of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt were arrested while transporting government papers, and some weapons and explosives in a jeep, in what is known as the jeep case.
