Egypt's Min. of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem {R} with Czech Republic's Ambassador to Egypt Jan Fulik - Min. of Culture
CAIRO – 11 November 2021: Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem received Jan Fulik, the ambassador of the Czech Republic in Cairo, and a delegation that included Director General of the Czech Centers, Director of the Public Diplomacy Department of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the cultural envoy at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Cairo.
The meeting dealt with ways to support and enhance cultural and artistic cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, Fulik praised the cultural and artistic movement in Egypt and the role of the Ministry of Culture in spreading awareness and arts in the various Egyptian governorates. The ambassador stressed this was the main motive to the Czech Republic to establish a Czech cultural center in Egypt, which is the first in the Arab world and Africa, and is scheduled to launch in 2022.
Moreover, Fulik added that the Egyptian civilization and culture grabbed the world's attention, especially the Czech Republic, whose people are always keen to visit Egypt. More than 300,000 Czechs visited Egypt before the global pandemic.
For her part, Abdel Dayem expressed her happiness with this visit and welcomed the idea of establishing the cultural center. She confirmed that the ministry will provide full support for the establishment of the center, as it is a real addition to the many cultural centers representing countries of the world in Egypt. It is also an important outlet for exchanging cultures and opening horizons of joint cooperation in the artistic, cultural, and creative fields.
