CAIRO – 26 October 2021: The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), and the American Space Foundation will hold on November 1-3 the ISESCO Global Space Science Forum, under the slogan "Exploring the Space Science Future - Together".
The forum will be held with the participation of high-level officials from specialized international organizations and institutions, as well as astronauts, experts and researchers in space sciences and related industries.
The forum, which will be held at the ISESCO headquarters in Rabat, will discuss, through visual communication technology, the opportunities offered by space science and technology in the fields of education and innovation in the Islamic countries.
The forum also discusses mechanisms to enhance the employment of space science applications, to develop a road map to enhance the programs of space science and technology in ISESCO member states. This is set to be accomplished through debating the need to raise awareness of its importance in various areas of life, such as agriculture, health, education and environmental protection.
The agenda of the first day of the forum includes opening speeches, followed by the first session, which will revolve around the importance of space ecosystems for the Islamic world, while the second session will come under the title “Space sciences: Earth, Environment and People.”
In the third session, the role of space agencies in building knowledge based on space science applications will be discussed, followed by a round table that tackles the importance of space science in reducing disaster risks and humanitarian crises; and in eradicating poverty.
The forum presents recommendations that contribute to the formulation of national policies that allow the countries of the Islamic world to benefit from space science technology, to achieve sustainable development in various fields.
