CAIRO – 25 October 2021: Within the framework of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities’ policy to develop archaeological sites and museums, and upgrade the services presented to visitors to improve their experience, CEO of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization and supervisor of the Nubia Antiquities Fund Ahmed Ghoneim inspected the temples in ‘Amada and Wadi es-Sebua [valley of the lions]

During the visit, the CEO of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization Ahmed Ghoneim followed up on the developments of the work to upgrade visitor services, and to preserve antiquities from environmental changes.

Ghoneim indicated that the project to develop the 'Amda and Wadi es-Sebua areas includes paving corridors for visits; placing umbrellas, seating areas and rest spots for workers; and providing a new system for interior lighting in temples powered by solar energy. This is in addition to setting up guiding and explanatory boards and making the two sites accessible to individuals with special needs.

It is worth noting that the areas of Amda and Wadi es-Sebua include pharaonic temples and tombs, which the visitor can reach through Nile cruises after enjoying a visit to Abu Simbel Temple.

Both areas are expected to witness a high tourist turnout in the coming period.
