CAIRO – 24 October 2021: On October 24, the General Egyptian Book Organization began receiving applications of publishers who wish to participate in the next Cairo International Book Fair [Online only].
The 53rd Cairo International Book Fair is scheduled to be held from January 26 to February 6, at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in the Fifth Settlement. Greece will be the book fair’s guest of honor.
Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem said that it was decided to allow publishers to apply online from October 24 to November 18, adding that all publishers wishing to participate in the 53rd edition of the book fair will be accommodated.
Abdel Dayem further stated that a hall is allocated for children's books and activities for the first time. This includes children’s educational aids and textbooks, as well as all artistic, cultural, intellectual and creative activities.
Application is available on the online platform only cairobookfair.gebo.gov.eg and hand-delivered applications will not be accepted.
This edition will witness the expansion of exhibition and sales halls to reach five halls, the first and second halls being for Egyptian publishers, and the third being the main showroom allocated for Arab and foreign publishers, in addition to Egyptians specializing in foreign writings.
The fourth hall will be allocated for publishers of heritage books, cultural institutions and the Azbakeya Wall libraries; while the fifth hall will be dedicated to the exhibition of children's books and activities.
