CAIRO - 15 October 2021: A press conference for the star Ahmed Elsakka, recipient of GFF’s Career Achievement Award was held on October 15.
An Egyptian actor with a unique artistic fingerprint, El Sakka painted a portrait of modern Egyptian cinema for three decades, in which he presented dozens of films, television series, and plays.
“Misunderstanding occurred yesterday, definitely I didn’t mean to downgrade from the talent of our previous generations on the contrary I meant they were so talented despite working with very primitive technique”
Elsakka added that the base of Egyptian actors enlarged a lot now, there are a huge variety including Karim Abdel Aziz, Hany Salama, Mohamed Farag, Karim Abdel Aziz, Ahmed Ezz, Mohamed Mamdouh among others.
“God gifted me physical skills that I have to use in my work” he said.
Elsakka added that Egyptian producer Mohamed Eladl is the one who stood behind a whole generation of actors and made a huge leap in Egyptian cinema.
“ When the actor is honored at a young age it gives him a push forward.”
Elsakka added that the Career Achievement Award from GFF made him feel fresh as if he is starting now from the zero point.
Commenting on his last series Nasl el Agrab, he explained that i was a good series till episode 28 but it was subjected to some criticism.
“ If people didn’t like some points in Nasl el Agrab series, we have learned from our mistakes.”
Elsakka announced that he has an upcoming project written by Tamer Habib and directed by Sandra Nashaat.
“I will participate in El Ekhteyar ( The Choice) series part 3 alongside Karim Abdel Aziz and Ahmed Ezz.”
"I have a theory that I strongly believe in, the camera shoot hearts not faces and what inside your heart will appear on screen," he said.
"Social media is the main way now artists use to communicate with their fans. "Some Egyptian films like Saydaty Anesaty, El Rosasa la Tazal Fe Geeby and Kaboria made me love cinema," he said
"I mourn my ex professor Fawzy Fahmy who died few minutes ago. Artists are now under what I can call positive pressure as they have to cope with work, fans, social media and digital platforms," he continued.
"Some Egyptian films like Saydaty Anesaty, El Rosasa la Tazal Fe Geeby and Kaboria made me love cinema," he said
"I speak to myself daily, after GFF award I felt as if I am now starting from the zero point," he said.

"When I want to free my head from all stress and problems I watch the classic Egyptian movie Isha’et Hob," he continued.
"If I find a good theatrical project I will not hesitate to do it. I adviced my son Yassin to have more rational reactions" he said.
