CAIRO – 13 October 2021: The Scientific Research Foundation (Egypt - Dubai) will hold a closing ceremony for the First National Reading Programme, on October 17 at 11 a.m., at the Egyptian Opera House.
The ceremony will be held in cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and in coordination with the Ministries of Higher Education, Culture, Social Solidarity, Youth and Sports, in the presence of Minister of Education and Technical Education Tarek Shawky and President of the Scientific Research Foundation and Secretary-General of the National Reading Programme Naglaa al-Shamsi.
The celebration includes announcing and honoring the Egyptian winners of the first edition of the programme, and announcing the launch of the programme’s second edition.
The programme aims to achieve cognitive sustainability for all segments of society and to enhance Egypt's cultural leadership in line with the state's vision for 2030.
In its first year, the programme achieved a participation rate of 10 percent according to a ten-year plan that aims to achieve in its tenth year the comprehensive turnout of all target audiences in Egypt.
