CAIRO – 13 October 2021: On October 13, the Greater Cairo Library in Zamalek is holding a symposium entitled "October 1973 Victory - Unknown Facts", shedding light on the unknown facts that took place before and after the great diplomatic, security, economic and social victory.
The palace on which this library was built is attributed to its owner, Princess Samiha, daughter of Sultan Hussein Kamel, the first sultan of Egypt in the period between 1914 and 1917 and the granddaughter of Khedive Ismail.
She was known for her strong love for arts, music, literature, singing and writing poetry in many languages, including Arabic, Turkish and French.
Before her death, she recommended that this palace be dedicated to serving cultural purposes. Renovation works in the palace was held from September 1992 until it was opened on January 24, 1995.
The palace was built in the middle of a spacious garden, on an area of 3,475 square meters.
