D-CAF announced the return of its Art for All initiative and the launch of its new Art of Sharing campaign.

Because gender, financial, and other barriers should never stand in the way of someone enjoying a beautiful work of art, D-CAF launched the Arts for All initiative in 2017, to provide free festival tickets to marginalized individuals.

Since its inception, the number of Arts for All beneficiaries has steadily grown to reach 1620 individuals in 2019. This year, with the generous support of the US Embassy in Cairo, Basita, Drosos foundation, collaborating NGOs and a number of private donors, the initiative aims to provide free tickets to 2000 marginalized individuals, so that they can enjoy a wide range of artistic events and performances.

Access to art can improve a person’s quality of life, sense of fulfillment, and well-being. Over the years, the initiative has also demonstrated that when people get the chance to engage with artworks that speak to them, they go on to explore their own artistic talents. In other words: the more people are allowed to enjoy beautiful art, the more beautiful art there is to enjoy.

In its ninth edition, D-CAF is proud to launch the Art of Sharing campaign in partnership with Basita, to let audience members help someone else attend the festival and unlock their creative potential.

A promotional video produced by Basita was shared to D-CAF's social media pages introducing the campaign. Starring Arwa Gouda and directed by Abdelaziz ElNaggar, the video showcases Downtown Cairo's rich cultural heritage and enduring status as the city's thriving artistic core.

This year, when booking their tickets for any of D-CAF's events, festival-goers can choose to purchase an additional ticket for someone less fortunate, and allow them to share in the magic of Downtown's vibrant art scene.
