CAIRO – 7 September 2021: The Religious Chanting Ensemble will begin its new season with a concert led by Maestro Omar Farhat on September 8 at 8 p.m. at El-Gomhoriya Theatre.
The concert’s program includes a selection of traditional and contemporary spiritual works.
It is worth noting that the Religious Chanting Ensemble was founded by the late musician Abdel Halim Nouira in 1972 and began its first concerts under his leadership in 1973 with the aim of preserving the religious lyrical heritage.
The ensemble specialized in presenting religious works and melodies, training and adopting promising young voices on religious chants and invocations.
It participated in holding all religious events throughout the year on the various theaters of the Egyptian Opera House in Cairo, Alexandria and Damanhour.
