CAIRO – 30 August 2021: Egypt’s Minister of Tourism & Antiquities Khaled El-Enani concluded his visit to Luxor Governorate by inspecting Al-Kebbash Road [Rams Road] and Luxor Temple, in order to follow up on the latest developments in the restoration works being carried out there.
Enani was accompanied by Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Mostafa Waziri, Assistant Minister for Projects Hisham Samir and Head of the Central Administration of Upper Egypt Antiquities Mohamed Abdel Badi.
During the tour, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled El-Enani directed the necessity of modernizing the road lighting system and setting informative and explanatory panels along the road to better illustrate its history and the excavations that took place there. This is in addition to raising the efficiency of the services provided along the road for the Egyptian visitors and tourists alike, especially to the elderly and individuals with special needs.
It is worth noting that the project to modernize and restore Al-Kebbash Road in Luxor is one of the most important archaeological projects the state is currently implementing.
It aims to transform Luxor into the largest open museum in the world by linking the Karnak Temples, Luxor Temple, Mut Temple, and the ancient medical ruins that are being discovered in the Naga Abu Asba area with the Great Processions Road.
