CAIRO – 23 August 2021: On August 23, many important events took place.

 

 

Important world events: 

 

1514 - The Battle of Chaldiran between the Ottomans and the Safavids broke out. It is one of the decisive battles in the history of the Ottoman Empire.

 

1833 - Slavery is outlawed in the English colonies.

 

1921 – Iraq was declared a kingdom and Faisal, the son of Sharif Hussein, assumed power as king.

 

1990 - The German Democratic Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany announce their intention to unite on October 3 of the same year.
