CAIRO – 15 August 2021: Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem received Governor of South Sinai Khaled Fouda, to discuss the implementation of a number of creative projects in the governorate, in the presence of director Hisham Atwa, head of the General Authority for Cultural Palaces.
During the meeting, the Minister of Culture was briefed on the stages of developing the open theater in the city of Al-Tur to raise its efficiency and organize the corridors, entrances and exits, lighting and technical equipment.
Abdel Dayem directed the need to work on organizing the first national festival for folk arts in the city of Al-Tur with the participation of all specialized teams in Egypt, in addition to working to establish a folklore troupe in South Sinai and the formation of the Al-Awatwain troupe for children and another for children’s folk arts within plans to preserve the identity and heritage of Sinai.
That is in addition to implementing the ‘Start Your Dream’ initiative to prepare a comprehensive theater actor, as well as implementing the ‘Cinema Between Your Hands’ initiative to discover and support talented Sinai residents in the field of cinematic arts.
For his part, the Governor of South Sinai confirmed his provision of all aspects of support necessary to implement the creative projects of the Ministry of Culture in the governorate in line with comprehensive development plans, pointing to working on preparing the area surrounding the Al-Tur theater in preparation for its joining the enlightenment system in South Sinai.
