CAIRO – 3 August 2021: Within the framework of the Egyptian government’s strategy to support and revitalize the domestic tourism movement through continuous cooperation and coordination between the Ministries of Civil Aviation and Tourism and Antiquities, Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Manar received on August 3 Egypt’s Minister of Tourism & Antiquities Khaled el-Enani to discuss means of developing mechanisms to link coastal tourist resorts with archaeological areas along the Nile Valley, giving priority to Luxor and Aswan governorates as a first stage, as they were the most harmed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the meeting, Egypt’s Minister of Tourism & Antiquities Khaled el-Enani thanked the Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Manar, praising the continuous cooperation and clear harmony between the Ministries of Tourism and Antiquities and Civil Aviation to support the state’s plans to activate the movement of tourism and travel and launch joint initiatives that contribute to stimulating the international and internal tourism movement, especially in light of the current conditions witnessed by the two sectors as a result of the global pandemic and its impact on the aviation and tourism sectors at the global level, stressing the keenness of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to provide all means of support to boost the tourism movement.
Enani added that linking the tourist destinations nationwide with each other will create an integrated tourism product for the first time in Egypt that combines beach, recreational and cultural tourism, where tourists can enjoy the warm beaches, picturesque landscapes and enjoyable marine activities simultaneously while getting acquainted with the ancient Egyptian civilization and history, which increases the competitiveness of the Egyptian tourism product worldwide.
