CAIRO – 28 July 2021: On July 28 at 7:30 p.m., the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, in cooperation with the Department of Archeology and Civilization, Faculty of Arts, Helwan University, will organize an online lecture entitled “Bedouin Arts in Egypt between Antiquities & Heritage.”
The online lecture will be broadcast on the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Antiquities Museum’s official Facebook page.
The lecture revolves around the Bedouin society, which is an integral part of the Egyptian society, and whose civilization formed a unique character that was closely linked to the concepts, customs and traditions of the Bedouin society.
The personality of the Bedouin man and woman has been greatly reflected in the Bedouin arts and affinities, such as their passion for the desert, their loyalty for the tribe and the simplicity of their lifestyle.
Although the studies on the Bedouin lifestyles, customs and traditions are numerous, most of them were dealt with by sociologists, while archaeological studies were scarce.
