CAIRO – 11 July 2021: After the June 30 revolution, all sectors of the state witnessed development and restoration in government facilities, including cultural facilities.
Among those cultural projects is the Academy of Arts School Complex. The project is located in Giza Governorate, and the restoration project was launched in 1995, at a total cost of L.E. 197 million.
The primary school was established on an area of 1100 square meters and consists of a ground floor and three repeating floors, with 128 classrooms and administrative rooms. The ground floor has a cafeteria, school yard and administrative offices.
The project aims to improve the educational service, to graduate batches of students in various fields of arts and prepare them to protect the Egyptian heritage, which contributes to raising the artistic taste of society.
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Culture had previously established the Egyptian Public Library in Faqous, Al-Sharqiyah Governorate. The project was launched in July 2018, and its total cost amounted to L.E. 20 million.
The total area of the Faqous Library building is 650 square meters. The library consists of two floors and a garden, and below the library there is a parking garage. The building consists of the library’s entrance hall and reception, a back garden with an area of 250 meters, a library for children and youth consisting of an activity hall, an IT training center, stores, a buffet, administrative offices, and an information technology unit.
The building also contains a library for adults consisting of a reading room, conference and seminar hall, language training hall, library director’s office, and administrative offices. This is in addition to an open roof built on the total area of the building used for the activities of the elderly and people with special needs.
