CAIRO – 6 July 2021: After the June 30 revolution, all sectors of the state witnessed development and restoration. This includes projects to develop cultural facilities and buildings.
Among these cultural projects was the development of the Large and Small Floating Theaters and the Cairo Puppet Theater.
The Large and Small Floating Theaters are located in Giza Governorate. The project started in August 2018 and tbe replacement and development works were completed in April 2019 with a total cost of L.E. 5.3 million.
The theater area is approximately 2333,3 m2 for buildings only. It comprises the Large Theater, a concrete runway building, halls, control room, stage, actors rooms, the Small Theater garden, stage, artists room and administrative rooms.
Comedy theater groups and youth theater groups affiliated to the floating theater present the “Start Your Dream” initiative to graduate the comprehensive actor.
On a similar note, the development of the Cairo Puppet Theater started in 2017. The project was completed in Dec. 2019 with a total cost of L.E. 11.2 million.
The theater spans over an area of approximately 1187.2 m2 and consists of a concrete structure of six floors, where the ground floor comprises the entrance hall, services and artist rooms, and the first floor contains the showroom, stage, administrative building, store and the atelier.
