CAIRO – 30 June 2021: On July 10-14, the Union of Arab Archaeologists will hold a training course in the architectural documentation of archaeological buildings using modern technologies, within the training and rehabilitation program for young archaeologists, architects and restorers at the union’s headquarters in Sheikh Zayed.
The course includes practical exercises in archaeological sites and lectures given by a group of specialized professors. Once they complete the training, trainees will be granted an accredited certificate.
In addition, the course includes a lecture on the AutoCAD program and the production of paintings for documentation purposes, which is a computer-aided drawing and design program that supports the creation of two- and three-dimensional graphics.
The course also includes a lecture on the documentation of heritage buildings and the development of various techniques in the field, in addition to a lecture on the use of three-dimensional scanners, photography and auxiliary programs, through the science of using photography to make maps and cadastral measurements.
