CAIRO – 30 June 2021: Egypt’s Public Prosecution commissioned the formation of a committee from the Ministry of Antiquities to examine the artifacts recently received by Attorney General Hamada el-Sawy. The artifacts were recovered from France based on the Egyptian-French judicial cooperation.

The Committee of the Ministry of Antiquities is currently examining the 114 distinctive Egyptian artifacts, to clarify which era each piece belongs to, whether it spans back to the prehistoric Egyptian civilization, the Middle or New Kingdoms, or the Greek, Roman and Late Era.

The pieces will also undergo further restoration ahead of their display in Egyptian museums.
