CAIRO – 14 June 2021: On June 17 at 3 p.m., Al-Sennari House, affiliated with the Cultural Communication Sector at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, is organizing a symposium entitled “Glass Arts between Authenticity and Modernity.”
The symposium focuses on introducing the history of glass, its characteristics and stages of manufacture, as well as introducing its arts and uses through the ages, with a focus on the modern era.
The symposium explains an innovative method for interlocking glass, identifying the fine details, the cutting method and the tools used.
On the sidelines of the symposium, a workshop will be held on the use of different glass arts in home decoration from an aesthetic and artistic point of view.
The symposium aims to introduce the daily uses of glass, as it is one of the most used materials at homes; people favor glass as it is easy to manufacture, environment friendly, and can easily be recycled and reused.
Additionally, many think that glass adds an artistic ambiance to its surroundings.
