CAIRO – 13 June 2021: The Sheikh Zayed Book Award announced on June 13 receiving candidates for its 16th edition until October 1, 2021.
This came during the first meeting of the Scientific Committee of the award, headed by President of the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language Ali bin Tamim.
In its 15th edition, the Sheikh Zayed Book Award hit a record number of more than 2,000 candidates from 57 countries, with an increase of 23 percent compared to the previous edition of the award.
This brings the total number of candidates for the award since its inaugural session to 19,095.
The award’s nine branches include literature, translation, development and nation-building, Arab culture in other languages, children’s and youth literature, arts and critical studies, young author, publishing and cultural techniques, and the cultural personality of the year.
