File: a sandstone stela dating back to the 26th dynasty discovered in a farm.
CAIRO - 5 June 2021: The Museum of Antiquities in Ismailia received a sandstone stela dating back to the 26th dynasty.
This stela was found in Ismailia yesterday by a citizen in his land while preparing it for cultivation, and immediately notified the Tourism and Antiquities Police.
Dr Mostafa Waziry Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of antiquities said that the stela is one of the border stelae that the king erected during his military campaigns towards the east.
He added that the round topped stela is made of sandstone and has on the lunette the winged sun disk, and a cartouche of king Wahibre the fifth king of the 26th dynasty.
