CAIRO – 20 May 2021: The Egyptian wing participating in the 17th Venice Biennale is ready to receive visitors on May 22. The Venice Biennale will run until November 2021.
Egypt will participate in a special pavilion with a project entitled "The Blessed Crumbs: A Message from the Bread Seller."
Through the project, the team was able to clarify how people from different classes live in complementarity without separating them, as the 17th edition holds the idea of designing and implementing an architectural project that achieves the theme of the exhibition: "How Will We Live Together?" That was supposed to be held in 2020, but have been postponed to 2021 due to the global pandemic.
The Venice Biennale is an international event in which countries from around the world participate. Egypt is the only Arab country to have a permanent wing in the Biennale and has participated in numerous previous editions.
The Venice Biennale Awards grant international recognition and merit to their recipients, which is reflected in the winners and the countries they represent.
Egypt is one of the first Arab and African countries to participate in the Venice Biennale.
