Nemnem inaugurates ‘She in the Violence Circle’ exhibition

CAIRO – 4 July 2017: The Ministry of Culture Helmy Nemnem inaugurated July 3 ‘She in the Violence Circle’ exhibition by the Egyptian artist Abdel Salam Eid.

‘’The mural works displayed in the exhibition show clearly how creative Eid is, all the displayed work portray significantly the different types of violence towards women whether mental, visual or physical violence,’’ recounted Nemnem.

The Ministry of Cultural noted that the exhibition is part of President Abdel Fatah el-Sisi initiative that pertains dedicating 2017 as Egyptian Women Year.

Nemnem pointed out that some of the exhibition work reflect women's attempts to break the barriers and express themselves, while other resist female genital mutilation phenomenon.

The minister added that cultural activities is not restricted to the Ministry of Culture only, different organisations especially media who usually organise cultural events like this exhibition organised by Al-Ahram organisation.
