CAIRO – 21 April 2021: Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem praised the ninth Faisal Book Fair.
Abdel Dayem also noted the importance of the documents exhibition organized by the National Library and Archives, which displays historical documents related to the blessed month of Ramadan and some rare documents from the Egyptian chronicles.
The minister indicated the importance of this type of activities aimed at acquainting the new generations with the Egyptian history.
Abdel Dayem stressed that the ministry is keen to hold the Faisal Book Fair every year and to establish various cultural activities. She emphasized that the high turnout of Faisal residents to the exhibition is the incentive that drives the ministry to hold the exhibition every year.
In addition, she praised the massive turnout from the public, especially since most of the visitors are from the Egyptian families, stressing that the area is witnessing great development. She hoped that a permanent activity would be established in the area.
Some 42 publishing houses participate in the book fair, including the various sectors of the Ministry of Culture, Dar Al-Maaref Foundation, and a number of private publishing houses Al-Azbakeya Wall.
The book fair will operate daily from 8 p.m. until 12 a.m. from Ramadan 8 to Ramadan 18.
