CAIRO – 21 April 2021: New Aswan city in Upper Egypt now has its first open-air theatre overlooking the Nile.
Located on the northern side of the Aswan Bridge, the theatre accommodates about 3,000 person. New Aswan city is located in Upper Egypt's governorate of Aswan.
The theatre is considered one of the projects implemented by the Ministry of Housing represented by the New Urban Communities Authority.
The projects are implemented at the entrance of the new city of Aswan, under the name of “The River Strip,” which includes an area of villas, a tourist walkway and a group of shops and tourist bazaars open for citizens.
On the other side, there are some public initiatives launched by artists over the past months to beautify the city of Aswan, by turning the electricity kiosks in their home city into artistic paintings.
The paintings reflect a positive image of the city of Aswan, in addition to featuring its popular tourist destinations.
