CAIRO – 1 April 2021: The International Prize for Arabic Fiction announced the opening of the submissions for the fifteenth edition of the award, starting April 1 until June 30.
The novels written in Arabic and whose first edition was issued during the period between September 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021 are eligible to participate in the 2022 competition.
The share of novels submitted by publishers eligible to apply depends on the number of times the books of the concerned publisher have reached the long list in the previous 5 years (2017-2021).
The International Prize for Arabic Fiction is the most prestigious literary prize in the Arab world. The award is given to the best Arabic novel each year, based on to the opinion and evaluation of the jury. The award aims to reward excellence in contemporary Arabic literature and raise the demand for it globally by translating and publishing the winning novels that reached the shortlist into other widespread languages.
