CAIRO – 25 March 2021: Farid al-Atrash Fan Club is holding an artistic evening in celebration of Mother's Day and International Women's Day on March 28 at 7 p.m. in Cairo Atelier.
Three of the most famous mothers of the Egyptian cinema, actresses Amina Rizk, Firdous Mohamed and Karima Mokhtar, will be honored during the evening, in the presence of a number of artists who will speak about the lives and careers of the honored women. The speakers include the artists Mustafa el-Demerdash, Saif Abdel Rahman and Qais Abdel Fattah.
Head of Farid al-Atrash Fan Club Adel el-Sayed will speak during the evening about the role of the mother in the Egyptian cinema, and will honor a number of exemplary mothers whose family lives have been marked by giving and sacrificing for the sake of their children. He will also grant them certificates of appreciation.
During the evening, a video clip about Mother’s Day, directed by the artist Mustafa el-Demerdash, will be screened. Another video clip including a rare recording of the musician Farid el-Atrash playing the oud and singing the song "Sit Al-Habayeb" will also be screened.
Additionally, the evening includes presenting an anthology of songs praising mothers sung by a group of male and female singers lead by maestro Mahmoud Farag. A group of poets will also recite their latest poems that revolve around motherhood and the role of the mother, the mainstay of the family.
