CAIRO – 24 March 2021: The House of Arab Singing in Prince Beshtak Palace on Al-Muizz Street, will hold a concert for the Grama Fn Troupe on March 25 at 7 p.m.

The concert’s program includes a number of traditional songs.

The band was founded in May 2018 by both Abdel Nasser Juma and Mohamed Salah. They performed concerts in various cultural centers and theaters.

Prince Beshtak Palace is a unique model of civil architecture from the Mamluk era, located on Al-Muizz Street in Fatimid Cairo. It was established by Prince Seif al-Din Bashtak al-Nasiri, one of the princes of Al-Nasser Mohammad bin Qalawun, who was murdered by a plot by Prince Qawsun during the rule of the noble Sultan Ala Al-Din Kajk.

This palace was initially inhabited by Prince Badr al-Din Baktash; then Prince Bashtak bought it from the heirs. He added the spaces surrounding it, and eleven mosques and four temples were built for the antiquities of the Fatimids and the Dar Qatwan al-Saqi.

It was about to collapse after the 1992 earthquake, however, the palace was repaired jointly with the German Archaeological Institute along two years at a cost of about LE 50 million.

Beshtak Palace dates back to 1339-740 AH.
