CAIRO – 4 July 2017: The International Labor Organization (ILO) approved a development program for Egypt’s clothing sector, Minister of International Cooperation and Investment Sahar Nasr said Tuesday.

The seven participants joining the program include Indonesia, Jordan and Bangladesh, Egypt will benefit from the program to improve the work environment in 30 clothing companies, for six months ending in December, Nasr said in a statement.

The program deals with a total number of 2 million workers in 1,500 factories, and it connects companies with 35 companies in the U.S., Europe and Japan.

“Egypt's approval to take part in this program is a sign of confidence in the Egyptian government’s ability to complete its economic reform program,” Nasr said.
