ISMAILIA, Egypt - 24 February 2021: President of Suez Canal Authority Ossama Rabie witnessed the inking ceremony of an agreement of shareholders to activate partnership between the Canal Company for Ropes and the Norwegian company of STERNER for aquaculture that aims at implementing a project to establish an integrated complex for fish farming with RAS technology with a total production rate of 25,000 tons of fish annually.


In statements on Wednesday, Rabie said that the agreement is a basic step to start the measures to establish the anticipated partnership between both sides after ending the economic fiscal studies and all the studies necessary for the project.
 

Joint cooperation aims at establishing a new company with the partnership between both sides to implement all the commercial business and the projects in the field of aquaculture which is based on Recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) via multi-phase project whose total production is 25,000 tons of fish annually, he said.
 

The outline of the project includes establishing a station to treat and clarify water, a factory to equip and pack fish, a factory for recycling the waste of production operation to produce organic fuel for fish in addition to establishing a vocational academy for training, he said.
 

He asserted that this step is basic and aims at turning the initial items of the agreement into reality.
 

Meanwhile, the representative of STERNER company lauded the keenness of the Norwegian company to provide all means to render the project successful, which is new in the Egyptian market technically via providing the best resources and technical elements to transfer expertise and the developed technology in addition to marketing and selling the products of the project in the local and international markets.
