Ebtessama, Vodafone Foundation launches platform to provide job opportunities for people with disabilities

CAIRO – 16 February 2021: Ebtessama Foundation, in collaboration with Vodafone Egypt Foundation launched “Majidah.org,” the first digital platform dedicated to training and employing Persons With Disabilities in Egypt. 

 

 

Ebtessama Foundation noted that the Majidah platform has succeeded to collaborate with more than 400 entities and 200 training centers in 2020 to provide employment and training opportunities to Persons With Disabilities. 

 

“Majidah plans to expand its reach and to further develop the platform to link business owners, corporates, training centers and institutions with Persons With Disabilities to reach the maximum public benefit,” it clarified.

 

According to the Foundation, the platform strives to empower Persons with Disabilities to acquire fundamental and vocational skills that qualify them to become an integral part of society. I

 

n partnership with Vodafone Egypt Foundation, Ebtessama Foundation launched Majidah platform last year to qualify and employ several disabled individuals in different entities including companies and renowned hotel chains in Sharm el Sheikh, Hurghada and Cairo.

 

During 2020, Majidah platform was developed to offer Online training material in various formats (text, video and audio) to suit all needs, cyber security protocols to secure all data inputs including data encryption of personal information, and integration of accessibility tools to make the platform more user friendly and convenient to different kinds of disabilities.

 

"We are proud of the positive impact that Majidah has achieved so far. Our strategy is focused on empowering Persons with Disabilities, through partnering with several entities, to become effective and influential individuals in society. We are always looking for different ways for community development and empowering Persons with Disabilities to become an integral part of the labor market," General Secretary of Vodafone Egypt Foundation, May Yassin, said.

 

For his part, Ashraf Othman, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ebtessama Foundation, said thatPresident El Sisi’s support has helped facilitate our operations to employ as many people with disabilities as possible, empowering them to become self-reliant rather than dependent on their families. 

 

"We aim to raise awareness about the platform and reach more stakeholders through our various activities planned to take place in the upcoming period,” he noted

 

“We will continue to communicate with employers and contract training providers to create more success stories, Othman added.
