CAIRO - 13 January 2021: The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) and the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) discussed on Wednesday steps to sign a cooperation protocol to facilitate measures aiming at giving licenses to drug factories and other pharmaceutical institutions working at the zone.
In a press release, the SCZone spokesman Ali el Ghamrawy said they also discussed setting certain frameworks to specify the terms of reference, roles and commitments of every side during the implementation of the cooperation protocol.
While head of the EDA operations central department Yassin Ragaie said the two sides also agree that the investor will deal with the SCzone only concerning granting licenses.
He added that the SCZone gives priority to the manufacturing of drugs as one of the strategic industries as well as to support local market, meet the needs of citizens of Pharmaceutical products and support exporting drugs.
