CAIRO – 6 January 2021: Egypt has allocated LE 6.3 billion to support the tourism, culture and aviation sectors during the coronavirus pandemic, according to Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait.

 

Maait said in a statement, Wednesday, that LE 3.2 billion were allocated during the current fiscal year to support the tourism and cultural sectors, and LE 3.1 billion for the aviation sector.

 

This came during the Treasury Secretary’s meeting with US Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin and his accompanying delegation.

 

He stressed the government's keenness to support the tourism sector so that it can withstand the repercussions of the pandemic, so that after overcoming this crisis, Egypt would be one of the markets that attract global tourism.
