EGX adds LE2.47B to market cap. during 2021's 1st trading session

CAIRO – 3 January 2021: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended 2021's first trading session in the green zone, adding LE 2.47 billion to market capitalization, amid Egyptian purchases.

 

The benchmark EGX30 stabilized at 10,845.03 points.

 

The equally weighted index EGX 50 rose 0.47 percent, or 10.41 points, to end at 2,245.76 points.

 

The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 hiked 0.73 percent, or 15.58 points, to close at 2,160.73 points, and the broader index EGX 100 climbed 0.67 percent, or 20.76 points, to close at 3,118.58 points.

 

Market capitalization gained around LE 2.47 billion, recording LE 653.34 billion, compared to LE 650.87 billion in Thursday’s session.

 

The trading volume reached 873.73 million shares, traded through 33,984 transactions, with a turnover of LE 873.73 million. 

 

Egyptian investors were net buyers at LE 8.35 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 2.78 million, and LE 5.56 million, respectively. 

 

Egyptian, Arab, and foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 15.58 million, LE 3.94 million, and LE 4.4 million, respectively.

 

Egyptian, and Arab organizations bought at LE 23.93 million, and LE 1.15 million, respectively, while foreign organizations sold LE 1.14 million.

 

Raya Holding for Financial Investments, El Obour Real Estate Investment, and Alexandria New Medical Center were top gainers of the session at 9.96 percent, 9.75 percent and 8.96 percent, respectively. 

 

Meanwhile, the Arab Dairy Products Co. Arab Dairy - Panda, General Company for Land Reclamation, Development & Reconstruction, and the Egyptian Company for Construction Development-Lift Slab were top losers of the session by 9.11  percent, 5.09 percent, and 3.34 percent, respectively.
