CAIRO - 22 November 2020: Egypt's exports to Nile Basin countries has reached $1.22 billion in 2019, against $1.20 billion in 2018, marking an increase of 1.4 percent, according to a report issued by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) on Sunday.
Egypt's imports from the Nile Basin countries have dropped by 4.6 percent in 2019 to reach $0.64 billion, compared with $0.67 billion in the previous year, the CAPMAS added.
Sudan topped African exporters from Egypt by exports recording $465.5 million in 2019, with an increase of 16.6 percent from the previous year, the report said.
Kenya came in the second place with exports at a value of $345.9 million in 2019, compared with $354.6 in 2018, the report added.
Chemical and plastic products topped Egypt's exports to the Nile Basin countries with a value of $404.3 million, marking an increase of 7.1 percent from 2018.
