CAIRO - 18 November 2020: Supply Minister Ali el Moselhi has called on European companies to pump investments into Egypt's industrial sector, and make use of Egypt's distinguished location as a gate to African and Arab markets.

Speaking at the opening session of the 14th edition of the Mediterranean Week of Economic Leaders (MedaWeek Barcelona 2020), Moselhi stressed the importance of boosting economic cooperation among the Euro-Mediterranean countries in light of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis.

He also called for developing the human capital to ensure a brighter future for the Euro-Mediterranean countries.

"Egypt is the only country in the Middle East and Africa, which achieved a growth rate of 2.4 percent, despite the Covid-19 crisis," Moselhi noted.

Up to 17 Egyptian speakers and representatives of 600 companies are taking part in the three-day event, which is held via video conference.
