Qabbage: Takaful, Karama financial support cards to be replaced by Meeza cards

CAIRO - 5 November 2020: Minister of Social Solidarity Niveen el Qabbage announced that Takaful and Karama financial support cards will be replaced by Meeza cards.

The 3.4 million Meeza cards will benefit 14 million citizens and allow them to withdraw cash from ATMs, conduct purchases and make E-commerce transactions locally, she said.

This comes as part of the state's policy which aims at achieving financial inclusion and transition to a cashless society, she added.

During a meeting with journalists on Thursday, Qabbage said that her ministry is about to finish transferring those benefiting from the social solidarity pension to the financial aid system of Takaful and Karama.
