CAIRO – 29 June 2017: Investors will receive lands in the industrial zone of Baghdadi, located in Luxor governorate, after all facilities are introduced. Licenses have been issued to 23 factories to be established, and contracts for 20 others are being finalized.
The governor of Luxor, Mohamed Badr, told media on Wednesday that the Holding Company of Water and Wastewater, and the holding Company of Electricity are currently replacing stolen facilities that have cost LE 18 million. Those facilities included water pipes, electrical cords, and electrical poles.
The governorate’s municipality is contracting with a security company to prevent the reoccurrence of the incident.
Badr revealed that among prospective investments in that zone is a factory for food processing linked with a land reclamation project comprising 1000 feddans (one feddan equals 1.038 acres).
In May, authorities abolished encroachments on 120 feddans in Baghdadi industrial zone. Lands in that area are given for free to investors as part of the state’s developmental programs to encourage investment.
