CAIRO – 18 August 2020: Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek el-Molla and Director General of the National Service Projects Authority Mustafa Amin, witnessed Tuesdaythe signing of a contract for the construction of an agricultural greenhouse complex in Lahoun area in Fayoum governorate on an area of 16.5 thousand feddans within the framework of the national greenhouse project.
The Ministry of Petroleum stated in a statement that Enppi, the engineering arm of the petroleum sector, will undertake the tasks of the general contractor for the project to carry out the integrated construction works of the new Lahoun complex for the benefit of the National Company for Protected Cultivations that is affiliated to the National Service Projects Authority.
The contract was signed by Chairman of Enppi Ashraf Bahaa and Director of the Fuel Department in the Armed Forces Ayman Abdel Sattar.
Molla emphasized the petroleum sector’s keenness to develop all its capabilities to contribute to the implementation of various national projects in accordance with the highest international standards and quality in accordance with intensive time programs in order to contribute to the realization of the political leadership’s vision of establishing major productive projects with distinguished economic returns and their importance in achieving development, increase production, and a new cultural shift.
“The engineering and construction companies of the petroleum sector contribute to the implementation of various national projects,” he added stressing that choosing Enppi to contribute to the implementation of this important national project represents a certificate of confidence in the performance of oil sector companies in general.
Molla affirmed the sector’s aspiration to support fruitful and extended cooperation with the armed forces’s agencies and sectors in various national projects through the national agricultural greenhouse project, after the success of cooperation with the Armed Forces Engineering Authority in Suez Canal tunnels projects.
The minister noted the importance of concerted efforts and cooperation to speed up the completion of this project within the national project to establish integrated agricultural complexes, with their ability to achieve great economic returns and increase production.
The scope of the activities of Enppi, the general contractor for the project, includes the implementation of the 1992 number of protected agricultural houses "greenhouses" according to the Egyptian and Spanish models, and the services attached to them, in addition to the works of establishing the logistical warehouse area and administrative offices of the project.
To contribute to the implementation of the project, Enppi also uses a number of petroleum sector companies to support the implementation.
