Free Zones companies can now manufacture respirator masks, protective gear

CAIRO - 16 April 2020: The industrial companies operating under the free zones system are now authorized to manufacture respirator masks and protective gear just by notice.

The decision was taken by Executive President of the General Authority of Free Zones and Investment (GAFI) Mohamed Abdel Wahab.

To secure market needs as part of the COVID-19 fight, those companies can manufacture masks and protective gowns in addition to their licensed activities for only six months, he said.

The companies can use their existing production lines or just make necessary amendments to their lines, he said.
