Finance Ministry auctions LE 24.5 bln T-bills, bonds

CAIRO - 15 April 2020: The Ministry of Finance auctioned treasury bills and bonds at a total value of LE 24.5 billion.

In a statement released Wednesday, the ministry said it sold 182-day T-bills worth LE 10 with average yield of 12.269 percent, adding it accepted bids at rates between 12.35 percent and 12.001 percent.

Also, 364-day T-bills worth LE 11 billion were sold, with average yield of 12.307 percent, It also said, adding that it accepted bids at rates between 12.41 percent and 12 percent.

Meanwhile, the ministry said it auctioned five-year T-bonds worth LE 3.5 billion, with average yield of 13.298 percent, adding it accepted bids at rates between 13.33 percent and 13.02 percent.

The Finance Ministry held the auctions on Wednesday instead of next Sunday and Monday, due to official holidays.
