Banks in Egypt take a break on Eid Holiday

CAIRO – 20June 2017: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) decided on Monday a three-day break for banks operating in Egypt starting Sunday till Tuesday on the occasion of Eid El-Fitr. Banks would resume work on Wednesday, June 28.

Banks in Egypt do not operate on official holidays, and on weekends consisting of Fridays and Saturdays. Public sector employees will also take the full Eid break from Saturday till Tuesday.

Eid El-Fitr comes right after the holy month of Ramadan.
