Electronic link between clearance arenas, ports to be completed in Feb.

CAIRO - 19 January 2020: The electronic link between the customs clearance arenas, ports and points of exhibitions will be completed by the end of February, Minister of Finance Mohamed Ma’it said Sunday.

Ma’it added in a statement that the single window system, with all the challenges it faces, is subject to continuous development, especially the system of standardization and mechanization of customs procedures.

He clarified that any impediments are dealt with immediately according to the latest international practices, to ensure reaching sustainable quality of performance, speed and accuracy.

This came during a meeting held by the minister of finance with a number of representatives of the customs extractors and the relevant bodies of the "single window" system.

The minister called on the customs extractors to write weekly reports of all the challenges they face on the ground and refer them to the customs administration, which will present the reports to him personally to take the necessary measures for the immediate elimination of such challenges.
