Sisi gives great attention to industry: minister

CAIRO - 24 December 2019: Minister of Trade and Industry Nevin Gamei Tuesday said President Abdel Fattah El Sisi gives great attention to the industry file and this is a golden opportunity to enhance the ministry's role in implementing comprehensive economic development plans and upgrading the industrial sector to distinguished levels, in terms of competitiveness of Egyptian commodities on the global markets and creating job opportunities to youths.

During a meeting with heads and officials at authorities and entities affiliated to her ministry to review work files, the minister said she will pay field visits to factories and industrial complexes and hold intensive meetings with investors and business organizations to get acquainted with challenges facing producers and exports in order to find radical solutions to them and set up active mechanisms to deal with urgent challenges.

She asserted that all the ministry's bodies should play their role in implementing the various national projects, increase production rates, carry out the state development plans and improve services offered to the citizens in all sectors.

The ministry will maintain more coordination and communication with the various ministries and bodies concerned to resolve all problems of manufacturers and exporters as soon as possible, she promised.

A thorough follow-up of all projects implemented by the ministry will be carried out based on a clear vision and fixed timetables, particularly as regards specialized industrial complexes, she stressed.
