CAIRO - 9 November 2019: The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) said that the annual inflation rate dropped by 2.4 percent in October.
A statement of consumer prices by CAPMAS, a copy of which MENA obtained on Saturday, added that the monthly inflation rate went up in October by about one percent, reaching 105.1 points, against 104 points registered in September.
The statement pointed out to a 2.1 percent monthly decline in prices of foodstuffs in October compared with September. It also recorded an 8.3 percent annual increase in prices of foodstuffs compared with October 2018.
